What we checked

We looked for farms in and around Fannin County with their own website and 2026 dates. Some directory listings still show West Wood Farms; its website now says the Georgia farm has closed. Other names that turn up in searches either had no readable site we could check or turned out to be in another county, so we have left them off rather than guess. If a Fannin County farm publishes 2026 dates, we will add it.

Planning around Light Up weekend

The farm’s Santa days, November 27 and 28, are the same two days as Light Up Blue Ridge. Downtown Santa runs from noon to 4:15 p.m. both days, and the farm’s Santa runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., so pick one Santa per day. If you go to the farm on Saturday, November 28, plan to be back and parked in Blue Ridge early: all cars must be off East and West Main Street by 4 p.m., and the parade starts at 5:30 p.m. Our parking and crowds page has the timeline, and Santa in Blue Ridge lists every Santa appearance.

Bringing a tree home

  • Measure your ceiling and the spot where the tree will stand before you leave. A 12-foot tree looks smaller in a field than in a living room.
  • Bring rope or straps and an old blanket for the car roof, and ask at the farm how they prepare trees for the drive.
  • Staying in a rental cabin? Ask the host whether a real tree is allowed, and whether there is a stand.
  • Late November mornings are cold. Blairsville’s normal November high is 60.7°F and its normal low is 33.3°F, so wear boots and gloves for the field. See December weather.

The tree everyone sees

If the point is a big tree rather than one for the living room, the Great Tree in downtown Blue Ridge is lit at about 7 p.m. on Light Up Saturday, November 28, after the parade. It was new in 2025, replacing a tree that served 13 years. See Christmas lights.
