New Year’s Eve in Blue Ridge, GA (2026): what’s known so far

As of October 17, 2026, no organizer has published a New Year’s Eve 2026 event in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Last year the Fannin County library held a Noon Year’s Eve party on December 31. The Chamber lists the ice rink through January 2, 2027 (the rink has not confirmed), and the railway’s regular winter rides run through February 28, 2027.

We will update this page when organizers post plans. Dates can change; confirm with the Fannin County Chamber, which keeps the area’s events calendar.

What we checked

We looked at the Chamber’s events pages, the railway’s calendar and booking system, the ice rink’s site and the Art Center and theater schedules. None lists a 2026 New Year’s Eve event yet. The newest New Year’s roundup is the Fannin County Chamber‘s list from 2025.

What New Year’s Eve looked like in 2025

These are last year’s events, not this year’s:

• The Fannin County library hosted a Noon Year’s Eve party on December 31, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. No 2026 date is posted.
• Blue Ridge on Ice stayed open through January 6, 2026, at the end of last season.

Is there a New Year’s Eve train?

Not on the 2026 calendar. The railway’s pass policy mentions a “New Year’s Eve Train”, but no 2026 New Year’s Eve train appears in its 2026 operating calendar or booking system. The Holiday Express ends December 24. The Blue Ridge Railway‘s regular Winter Rides run from November 5, 2026 through February 28, 2027, so trains do run through the winter; check the booking calendar for the days around New Year’s. Ice skating over New Year’s

The Fannin County Chamber lists Blue Ridge on Ice from November 17, 2026 to January 2, 2027 at the Blue Ridge Farmers Market, 787 Summit Street, next to the Swan Drive-In, with admission of $15 for ages 13 and up, $12 for 12 and under and $10 for active military. The rink’s own site still says its 2026-27 season dates and hours are coming soon, so treat the Chamber’s dates and prices as not yet confirmed by the rink.

Lights on the last nights of the year

Mountain Country Christmas in Lights at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee runs through December 31, 2026. From December 26 to 31 it is drive-thru only, at $25 per car, without Santa, train rides or vendors (Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds). It is a day trip from Blue Ridge; our Christmas lights guide has more.

New Year’s Day closings

• Mercier Orchards is closed on New Year’s Day.
• The Art Center is closed for its Christmas break from December 23 to January 10.
